J joined BitB as a strong winning player, beating NL400 at 8bb/100. He has since successfully moved up in stakes, maintaining that same impressive winrate at NL750 over a 600,000 hand sample

How My Game Evolved
Before BitB my game was a very heavy exploit strategy which was good but it then also led to myself being heavily exploitable. During downswings its very hard to be confident in your game when you yourself know that your game has lots of holes in that your opponents may or may not be aware of.
The biggest evolution of my game from BitB is that I would have more confidence that my game travels. I’m no longer a 1 trick pony who goes crazy during rough times wondering if my trick still works or not. BitB helped me turn into a professional poker player that can remain confident during rough times. Most of this is due to the coaches going through individual spots in poker and teaching me more theoretical strategies.
The Biggest Shift in My Approach
The biggest difference for me is having a stronger theoretical framework. Also a very underrated strength of BitB is the emphasis on being a professional. This means you study, play, eat healthy, exercise, sleep well, and have your life in order for the sake of being able to put in significant volume over 5-10 years in order to reach a handcount where variance can no longer drown your winrate. My goal now is to reach a 4-5 million hand graph. Its not about the next 100k hands, its about putting in real volume.
The Biggest Impact
I think the 1on1 coaching was incredibly valueable and especially at the beginning. I personally enjoyed and found value in having other BitB members in my player pool that I can relate too and work with. Poker really is so much about who you are playing against, so if I were the only one in my player pool I think my experience would have been more difficult.
To Anyone Unsure About Joining
You will pay a lot with your profit split, but it just doesn’t matter because you will make more due to it and then you have the rest of your career to keep your earnings. You should not underestimate the value of a community in poker. Even though its a zero sum game there are communities out there where within the community a rising tide lifts all boats. BitB is one of them.
Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed all of the coaches and its amazing how they are all so good and give great answers while all coming up with their own answers individually.
