How My Game Evolved

My game prior to BitB was very basic in nature and quite passive. While implementing new strategies and understanding the game on a deeper theoretical had some serious learning curves, I really hit my stride toward the middle to last third of my contract where my overall aggressiveness has significantly increased in most nodes. The importance of the mental game of poker is stressed so much at BitB and allowed me to breakthrough into higher stakes that I was hesitant to enter. Most importantly through my time with BitB is learning how to properly spend my time studying. The group as a whole is so supportive of one another and having a wealth of knowledge to ask questions to about theory, exploits, the mental game, and doing so without fear of judgment has been the biggest win of my poker career.

The Biggest Shift in My Approach

My mindset has improved so much compared to where I was prior to joining BitB. The confidence I have in my game and understanding of where I am now, where I was, and where I will go in the next phase of my poker career took me from a somewhat lost player just logging on and putting in hours to having a full fledged strategy to allow myself win at higher rates at higher stakes now and in the future has completely changed my outlook of what poker will do for me moving forward.

The Biggest Impact

The one-on-one coaching is so crucial to understanding how you perceive your game, what your leaks are and how they are affecting your overall win rate, and how to properly solve them allows you to speed run from being a somewhat average winning reg to being a winning reg at very competitive stakes.

My Breakthrough Moment

The moment I began to work with our mental game coach completely shifted how I view the game and what I want to get out of it. My hesitancy to jump stakes was self inflicted and that moment where I first moved up sticks out in my head as a breaking point in my game. This combined with utilizing my own data in order to really figure out where I was losing EV were two moments I can specifically pinpoint that turned my game from where it was to where it is now.

To Anyone Unsure About Joining

The biggest fear anyone has about joining a group is the unknown of both what they will learn and what the actual cost of that learning / implementing will mean to you. After about two weeks of joining those concerns were completely quelled. If you want to take your game to another level and are willing to put the work in, there’s no place better than here.

Final Thoughts

In this industry there are a lot of players/coaches/people involved in the game in some capacity that are only in it for themselves. At BitB my experience has been that a rising tide lifts all ships and regardless of what stake, what player pool, and what your specific goals are — the team helps you get there in a supportive way that doesn’t have the pressure or judgment that many are fearful about when venturing into a new group.
